I appreciate that you respect people’s right to speak and criticize, even if it’s for topics we might disagree on.

Excellent work. Also, why the flag have more colors? Wasn’t the LGBT pride flag only a rainbow?

This was the only one of these I commented on simply because it was a recent upload that had the ‘graveyard of comments’ tag on it… which I hadn’t seen before. Took a peek and basically typed up what I did pertaining to the image and the content of it and why I feel there’s a good bit of hate regarding that content.

Dunno why my comment was deleted though as it was at least somewhat thought out and still pertained to the content of the image at least.

I don’t think anyone who worked those deletions actually came here looking for things to delete. Maybe one - I see there was a report, but mostly some of those commenters were doing stuff on other images, and looking at what they were doing to OTHER artists lead to all of their complaining getting deleted regardless of the image they were doing it on - it’s just that your image is in the set of Pride images they were spamming complaints on.

In one case, spamming complaints about an image they already had filtered, so it’s clear they actually had to search for images to be offended by.

Not everyone whose comment was deleted was in that set - but if someone’s spamming up the site complaining about filterable images then they shouldn’t be surprised when they’re asked to leave. And if other people are joining in on random images, they get escorted to the door too sometimes.

Pride month always brings out that tiny set of fans who seem to only be here to be offended by something they actually had to come here to be offended by.

We do ask that people keep their images apropos the artwork, and if they want to debate the existence of the theme of the image they use the forums instead.

Like, if an artist posts an image related to Christmas, and all of a sudden a bunch of people who only show up here once a year to complain about Christmas start complaining about the commercialization of Christmas on every Christmas image they can find.

We would ask them to please filter the christmas tag and to use the forums to discuss whether christmas should exist instead of doing so on fan art.

An analogy might be if someone really hates donuts, and they go into a donut store to complain about donuts. They have their right to free speech, which varies depending on which country they are in, but the shop keeper can still ask them to stop coming into the store and bitching about the existence of the store that they could have simply ignored.

And for the record, to everyone that’s had their opinion deleted and censored, this is not my doing.

I don’t fully agree with the statements made today, but everyone has the right to say whatever the hell they want. As long as they aren’t actively telling people to hurt each other, or hurt themselves, I don’t care what they have to say.

And this I largely agree with. The corporate element has irritated me every year, just because it’s a shallow attempt at seeming “woke.” That’s why I personally opted to not charge for this and to offer a wide variety of options to really try to be as inclusive as possible. Because you’re 100% right, there’s too much focus on one element in a huge community that’s not just one static thing. I don’t personally condemn other artists for monetizing it, as most (if not all) of them are individuals that need money more than some greedy fat cat in Seattle or New York.

Though the apathetic nature of the “I don’t care” attitude isn’t super great. I agree, to each their own. Do what you want as long as you don’t hurt others. But this attitude is comparable to turning your back on the larger issue of non-straight, non-cis individuals harassed and attacked every day all over the world. And just to clarify, I say you in the general since. Not trying to target you as a bad guy, since you aren’t actively hurting anybody.

I think the main problem with the whole pride month thing is that it’s entirely a corporate cash grab. It’s not a matter of tolerating it or whatever… I personally don’t give a shit about it in the least, but it becomes drastically annoying when it’s shoved in your face at every opportunity during the month.

It was once a simple concept that people who might have interest in pride related stuff could look into that stuff on their own. Now it’s almost a form of peer pressure directed at everyone that they should support it, encourage it, and practice it. Just look at it from impressionable youths today seeing it everywhere. BUT not all of it is shown. It’s only the strictly male/male stuff that is advertised everywhere during the month. Female/female is also a completely viable option to advertise in all of the pride commercials and such, but it’s not. You constantly see male/male couples kissing with rainbows everywhere and constant talking about tolerating it and such, but female/female advertisements are nowhere to be seen.

I’m sure some kids think it’s only a gay male month and not every other thing it’s supposed to represent since the flamboyant gay male is all that is shown throughout the month at all.

Overall I just get tired of all of these corporate fueled cash grab events that just happen all the time. I don’t care about them and never will.

And before someone ends up freaking out here… I am not gay and I don’t care for gay stuff in the least. I also don’t care to support it either. BUT that doesn’t mean I’m actively working against it or something like that…. it just means I don’t care. You all can do what you want and I will do what I want. No help, no hurt.

It is a shame. You’d think a community that loves a show that preaches love and tolerance would be more accepting.

Though it’s more likely people are upset that I dare suggest Shining Armor is bisexual. Or that Trixie is trans.
