Pretty much characters like her can be whatever you want.
She technically doesn’t have a canon personality. When majorities agree on a personality, they tend to stick with it, some at least until they get a canon personality while other may resist it.
Anon is just saying, why can’t Lyra just be Lyra, not just one of the oddball personalities the fandom has given her.
I don’t think those things have to be separate. Brilliant artists with eccentric habits or mental conditions aren’t all that uncommon.
