Craving bring sufference. Too much attachment will only make your sufference worse, and won’t make them more reachable in any case. If you hope for a better rebirth in an Equestria Realm you still need to act on your present life, on your present Actions (Karma) and thoughts in any case. Be the best you can for them, learn compassion. As by the compassion for the others, you’ll also bring compassion to yourself and to Them, no matter how far away in space and time They are. This because everything is interconnected in any case.
But be aware that even a life in an Equestrian Realm is impermanent, and it will bring you sufference once it ends. This because sufference(dukkha) cease to exists only outside the cycle of death and rebirth (samsara). So sufference doesn’t exist only in Nirvana. But in Nirvana craving for that realm doesn’t exists too, because no cravings and illusions exist there. No sufference, no death of old age, no ignorance. Only pure bliss.
Does Equestria need Bodhisattvas? I don’t know.
Does Equestria exist inside the Dharma? Most likely.
Does these thoughts distracts you from your now, the only moment that really matters, when you can improve as a person, be more compassionate to others, so to honour the Dharma and Their lessons? Certainly.
So, the more you crave them, the more you’ll suffer, the more you’ll get lost in samsara, the less likely you’ll be with them soon, and less a better person you will be. Because by being a better person you actually are closer to them. More and more while you improve.
A wise singer once sang: Who dares to love forever when love must die?
that wise singer was aware of the impermanence of every thing around us, and the sufference that may arise from this detachement. You just don’t have to think how far away in time and space They are to love Them, you don’t have to think for how long this love will last. You just have to love, period.
Ohm Mani Padme Hum.
I’m the opposite. Can’t wait to die. The only thing you’re guaranteed in this life is that you will die. If you’re dead, none of your past experiences matter anymore. You won’t feel “better” if you did fun stuff and you won’t feel “worse” if you were tortured.

I mean afterlife in general. But my intention was not to demolish any faith, but to promote a more “here and now” lifestyle.

You mean cartoon afterlife
don’t mention it, not at all, you’re welcome.
I believe you are right, it won’t be easy, but I will try my best and thanks for the wise and kind words.
It is always heartening to know that there is someone in the world who understands how I feel.
I understand your feelings, mate. I understand it so badly!
But we should live our lives at the fullest, in harmony and friendhsip. This is the only way we can keep them with us forever. Life is here and now. Living in the wait of something hypotetical, like an Equestrian afterlife, is a terrible way to waste your existence.

If it is true that heaven exists and that our loved ones are there waiting for us, I hope they are there too.
