Acanthus is just about covered in scars from sparring with his Uncle Pharynx, but nothing too extreme. A scrap here or a cut there just ended up turning into multiple visible marks. He doesn’t mind them, but Papa Thorax coos over his “poor little grub” every time he comes home with a new scratch or bruise as if he’s mortally injured. But Acanthus assures his dad that Uncle Pharynx is just as covered in bruises as he is, which just tends to alarm Thorax more.
