There were some parts of that episode that never really quite made sense in the way they were explained, or not explained as the case may be.
 
Rarity was given the ability to control the weather, could Celestia have been given the ability to control the sun? And is that perhaps why there was so much trouble 1000 years ago, because she wasn’t very good at it back then?

anyone else notice that rarity with rainbow dash’s cutie mark was trying to control the weather, when we clearly saw rainbow dash get her cutie mark while racing?
 
I though her cutie mark was because of her flying ability, not her weather control ability. every pegasus does that.

When Twilight cast the incomplete spell, it switched her friends cutie marks. That was the same spell that Starswirl the Bearded had.
