Twenty one years after Twilights ascension Rarity Belle was executed by Princess Cadance after she caught Rarity and Shining Armor in a affair. Her execution after an attempt by Twilight Sparkle to extradite her back to Equestria was to have all the gems in Raritys possession force fed to her until she died while Princess Cadance and the recently gelded Shining Armor watched.
