Well, I don’t sit on /mlp/ but I heard about it, in general this site is inconvenient for me and I don’t understand how this anonymous chat works)) In my opinion, this site is not very convenient.
 
But if there really were insults, then this is bad, I cannot approve of it, it is generally not good to do that, to insult some people from a certain group only because they are for freedom of speech and support Aryanne? only on the basis of this to offend people? well, I definitely don’t approve of that.
 
p.s. I also painted Aryanne as a sign for freedom of art and self-expression, and even certain people insulted me too, calling me a Nazi))

I don’t want to get banned again, but basically, their private mod chat was leaked and people found out the admin was insulting the entire userbase of /mlp/, saying nothing good ever came from there, telling other mods to permaban anyone that reveals to be from /mlp/, and expressing his desire to put /mlp/ users in concentration camps. Not hyperbole.
 
/mlp/ is, obviously, a huge part of the fandom, so a large amount of artists immediately felt unwanted.

Basically this. They never had the spine of an average adult person to own up and apologize. Just kept doubling down on everything until people literally had to start making alt sites cause it was too obvious that no reason is ever gonna be achieved with these mods/admins.

One solution would’ve been to apologize and own up to your mistakes, but that never happened.

Well, I mean Dilarus, he is a radical leftist who after that deleted all his art from the site, and he also banned everyone on his Twitter account who expresses an alternative point of view.
 
Or Woodmaster, he bluntly stated on Twitter that yes, he is for censorship and for totalitarianism, but all for the sake of a bright future for the fandom. He spoke like a Nazi or a communist))  
This is the irony, the radical left the 20th century had exactly the same rhetoric that justifies censorship, all for the sake of a bright socialist future. Only in the USSR it is international socialism, in the Nazis it is national socialism) okay, I’m already going into a completely different topic.

I only know that because of the whiners on Twitter and because of the article from the yellow newspaper about the “problems of the Nazis in the pony community” which has nothing to do with reality.  
But the administration of Derpibooru took this article seriously, and decided to ban Aryanne from the site.  
Then users did not like this censorship, and because of this, artists began to leave this site and prohibit publication here. After this incident, when they see that users leave, the administration was allowed back to publish Aryanne.  
But now this pony is allowed to publish, which is why all sorts of left-wing radicals have already left this site, but there were not so many of them and they have no real weight.
 
But I agree with the fact that the administration of Derpibooru should not get into politics and take one side or the other, Derpibooru is just hosting pictures, and there should not be any prohibitions on publications, just because it hurts some infantile gentle personalities.
 
I also have topics on this site that are disgusting to me, I do not like certain topics that are published here, but I have never demanded to prohibit this, because I am for freedom of speech and the art of self-expression.

Because not everyone was going to keep up with the flood of posts and discussions surrounding the decisions made involving it. Because of this, everyone who heard the initial news wouldn’t be continuously informed about the developments following it. However, many saw this as the writing on the walls, because even the fact that the thought crossed the mod’s minds, means that it could happen again at any time, and probably not under the public eye.
 
Though this is all focusing on the idea that it was about whether Aryanne was allowed on the site or not. It wasn’t exactly that, per se. It was the new rule(s)/guideline(s) put in place that forbade certain themes/content from being posted. However, it seemed (and was pointed out on multiple occasions under different threads, comment sections, and posts in and outside of derpi) where it was being selectively enforced. Some images were thought to be too pro-nazi, while some communist images were on a similar or exceeding level of pro-communism; which, under the new terms should have been deleted according to not only users, but a number of the larger fandom artists. Not to mention even in-fighting among staff (thus leading to some staff members retiring, or even leaving entirely).
 
The over-arching issue was about censorship itself. The idea was that it should all be allowed, since filters existed.  
None of this touches on other things that have happened on the site. One example being the time they attempted to remove (or discussed removing) the downvotes system. (No, not the april fools event. This actually happened.) In other words, trust with staff had nearly 100% eroded with anyone who was around to see it all happen. Only those not involved or those who hadn’t been notified are in the dark about what happened.

Yeah, it’s pretty fucking terrible here. It’s actually pretty funny - the mods thought something good was going to come out of this mess. Now a bunch of their most active artists have forbidden them from hosting their work and abandoned this cesspit for other sites; the site and the mods are universally mocked; and other websites are growing in popularity.
 
All because someone got SAD that a certain horse got posted and tried to fix it.

This site is basically useless since this drama. Almost ~20% of all non worthless images got nuked. If you look at an old drawfriend from 3-4 years ago there is a good chance you won’t find many many images from there on here (derpi).
