Not the most intuitive conclusion. Especially since you seem to treat “nightmare form” as a morally neutral term for “transformed state.”
Think of it this way: If you open up a box of chocolates and there’s a piece of sushi mixed in among the caramels, are you going to think that it’s supposed to be there, or that something went awry in the packaging? Yes, there may be a clever bit of symbolism at play between the nougat and the nigiri, but there’s nothing on the box to tell people that.
You missed the point. The point is that they are not suppose to be acting evil in this, they just look evil.
Sunset is deliberately in her good nightmare form to be the odd one out, to give a hint that the rest are good too (they just don’t show it because they don’t have a good nightmare form).
It’s supposed to be misleading at first, having you think they are all evil but when you see Sunset and she is in her good form, maybe you would think the others are good too, they just can’t show it because they don’t have a nightmare form.
That makes no sense. Besides, there is a version of evil that Sunset has done. It would make more sense.
There are no good nightmare forms for the others, hence why they are in their evil nightmare forms. But that doesn’t mean they are acting evil.
