Nah, he was being a dick about it, “hurr why do people like this, it’s so gross and dumb, ew!”, no, that’s not genuine curiosity.
Saying you don’t understand something isn’t necessarily the same as whining. The optimist in me likes to believe that they’re genuinely curious.
I’ll never understand why people whine about things they don’t like instead of using filters.
It’s a drawing. It’s not a real person getting this fat. Artwork can be a way to indulge in unrealistic scenarios without the dangers that would occur in real life. So if you can’t actually see the character struggling with the health risks of obesity, then you can assume the pic’s taking place in some idealized alternate reality where obesity doesn’t have those health risks at all.
As for why some people are attracted to someone wide enough to need their own zip code? It doesn’t make sense. That’s why we call it a fetish.
