Yeah, most didn’t, and some fans seem to romanticize Queenie as more noble than she actually is, because of all the “cute” fanart of her.
I’ve remember the Oh no, she’s going to be reformed comments.
And frankly, she was just straight up evil. She wasn’t this super caring.Queen mother just trying to feed her subject. She just wanted power.
Also I don’t think even starlight fans wanted her to be a princess

Well, it’s better then killing her, as it’s possible to let her out later to try to reform her.
You’re probably right, but it fit the direction Glimmer was going. The foreshadowing of Luna saying, “see much of myself in you” during the Changeling arc seemed to suggest it. Ending the show with a child being turned to stone was kind of dark, didn’t fit the rest of the friendship is magic ‘there’s good in everyone’ theme.
I think those things would of upset some fans, especially the ones that feel the show overdid the reforming villain trope, and the ones that dislike Glimmer and wouldn’t want her elevated to a position above Twilight’s friends.
