Korra at least was 100% Nickelodeon’s fault; the producers had to fight tooth and nail to even get the Holding Hands Into The Sunset scene included, Nickelodeon was apparently furious with them for including all the obvious lesbian shipping throughout the series.

Appledash was only teased in the actual episode and sunset being bisexual is just a tweet from someone who doesn’t work on the writing side of the show

Yea. I, personally, see AJ as being too hard working to settle down. Whereas RD is too wild to be tied down to one pony and would probably try to get a harem or something.
