And that involved… reading a book. Something she always likes, and which let her avoid making friends for a while.
This involves potentially overthrowing the ruler she practically worships. Just a slight difference.
You mean like the first episode when Twilight went against Celestia’s direction and sought out information on Nightmare Moon?
I’d think that would be mirrored here. In the show she had a lot less to go on than a dream.
Canonically Twilight has ALWAYS held onto the idiot ball as firmly as possible whenever Celestia was involved. In this setting, Nightmare Moon is her object of obsession rather than Celestia. It’s only been in recent seasons that Twilight has become more critical and discerning of Celestia’s behavior, while this is taking place around the time of the pilot. Perhaps you should spend some time watching the earlier episodes to refresh your memory on what Twilight used to be like before she grew wings.
No. I expect her to question things. This is Twilight Sparkle here. Having her hold the idiot ball is usually a bad thing.
You’re expecting her to believe a) the Luna she met is real and b) telling the truth. From Twilight’s perspective she just had a bizarre dream, she might even consider it to be stress-induced given her feelings toward Nighty. Those feelings make her even less likely to believe what she saw, too.
Ah. Porn rules. Everything makes much more sense.
This Twilight has idolized Nightmare Moon throughout her life like the canon Twilight worships Celestia. I think her rational mind makes every excuse for her, where it’s not considered an outright ‘good’ thing they live under tyranny.
Also, doing the right thing means no hot, loin-shattering, bed-wrecking sex with the mare whose approval she craves. Some mares just give in to such temptation easily. Who can blame her?
Yeah, but on the other hoof she’s been given conflicting evidence by Luna, yet she’s only sought to throw her lot in completely with Nightmare Moon.
What’s curious is that she hasn’t told Nightmare Moon about her meeting with Luna.
At the moment, she doesn’t really believe NMM is a monster. After all, she’s been living in propaganda shaped by NMM herself for 1000 years.
