It probably will, but it may not be for a while. Sounds like Boulder is having trouble growing quickly enough to take on the projects.
Even LPS S2, the two big theories are that it either undersold toys and got put on hiatus, or it is on hiatus simply because the 150-person staff cannot handle adding it back on their plate.
Yeah. Boukder replied to a comment on their Facebook that asked if Boulder was working on EQG S3 right now. Boulder replied that they are not at the moment, but that they don’t mean that it isnt a future project.
Knowing their current schedule, it’s pretty clear that Boulder just cannot get to it until either a few of their non-hasbro shows conclude or they can get their staff increased.
As for the lack of a reboot, goes back to Hasbro’s original announcement for FiM’s ending. They mentioned they are excited to show us new “content plans” for MLP, that they were not ending MLP, that instead they plan on expanding it, and that they were carrying on with the existing pony stories they are telling.
Basically, G4 is not ending, they are continuing to develop the stories we are getting, but they are going to change how we get those stories.
Nobody knows what that last bit means, though.
The CGI movie is definately an example, maybe the live show too. If we look at Transformers, we might see a web series instead of a TV series.
But it makes sense, TV is definately dying, and the movie sold a ton of toys, so it is a good idea to change up how they present G4.
