It would be prudent if you did read comments, Minus.

I came back to this to see that it’s been traced from the show. And I think everyone is being pretty reasonable to be mad. Usually there’s something written somewhere by the artist, or implied by a tag, to say that it’s traced. Vectored art from the show is always of the characters. When it’s turned into an OC I usually see “Base used”. And in other cases we get the “traced” tag.  
But without reading the comments it feels like you are taking full credit for this image. I think addressing this would mean less annoyed comments from people that feel like you’ve been dishonest.

That’s just what other staff suggest and nominate. There is no rules for featured images beyond it MUST be safe, and the fact that a lot of them end up being ‘painterly’ style is just because some staff pick those. I usually don’t pick anything like those for one. It has nothing to do with time spent, or ‘quality’ or effort level or technical skill. it’s just to showcase artists and give them some attention. There’s no deeper meaning.

The site does, you just gotta go to “View” or “VS” to make it move. I think what happens is the thing that generates all the smaller versions of the image can’t tell that they’re not regular PNG. I uploaded one and it works fine :D
