So TV exec’s are covering their asses on a meaningless question by not giving a definite answer and stopping the argument officially once and for all, what else is new. I’m not saying that pegasi, unicorns, and earth ponies would be the same ethnicity, I’m saying that dodging the question of what they would be like this makes the studio look like it has a crippling PC wonk.
The ponies have three different races. They shouldn’t all be the same thing.
Thank you for replying rationally, that was so much better than I was expecting, but that’s kinda my point. It’s a plain and simple cop-out, and the subject is so hilariously flimsy anyway. Most of the VAs are white, a zebra character exists in canon if an African motif, as well as a background pony with an asian-evocative design, the basic design and culture of the setting is very euro-centric, the question of what race they would be should be a non-issue.
I think it’s too avoid things like race-related issues. This way, no one can complain about Twilight being white or black and asian. She’s purple.
