I shouldn’t involve politics, but Klugetown is perhaps a terrifying example of a free market, or at least an immoral free market. The inhabitants will sell, trade, or buy anything, from foods (with or without quality and/or approval from the health department or not) to anything that has no essential value (like plot points apparently). You ever heard something cost you an arm and a leg? Well, in that town, they literally want you to sell an arm and a leg, even if it’s your own.
And of course, since there are no government regulations and laws that detail what is considered a commodity and not, slavery is obviously commonplace. Although both Klugetown and even Griffonstone demand getting paid for even the most menial things, like information, what separates them is that Klugetowners are allowed to take any creature, sapient or not, and either buy them as pets or slaves (and I’m not talking about just debt slavery either). Assuming Klugetowners seem to have no moral quandaries with owning another person, sapient creatures, mostly those who are alien to them and/or are quadrupedal like ponies, would be bought and sold as property, whether as pets or slaves. Makes me think Klugetown is like a black market and slave town all rolled into one.
Unless your experienced with dealing with these grabby, rapacious, mugging denizens, Klugetown is definitely one place you do NOT want to go on for vacation/holiday. You would be much safer in a bad neighborhood with gangs and drug dealers than there.
