Nope. During the movie, Tirek is still locked in Tartarus, the overthrowned and betrayed Queen Chrysalis went into hiding in the Everfree Forest, and King Sombra is already dead. But in this movie, the only villain that attack Canterlot and then the rest of Equestria was none other than the Big Bad of the entire Hasbro tv show-based movie, The Storm King.

>5 seconds goes by
>jumps back to canterlot
>never mentioned again
Hmm, we haven’t seen Shining Armor. I wonder if he’s back at the Crystal Empire with her?
I’m also hoping for Flurry Heart.
I now have a mental image of background characters running out of a building like a clowncow and getting lasered in the head each time
Why can’t we have Muh Sunset take over the show and the movie? She should be the focus.
Would you rather it be like Transformers The Movie (1986) where whenever a background character showed up, it was to get killed?

I would hope so too. I was just thinking that there might be too many characters with all their allies, but that one clip from the Germany trailer suggests that only the Mane 6 + Spike actually get back into Canterlot proper (the others helping to get them through the Storm King’s barrier), so that the captured ponies can help out in that manner.
After reforming Tempest of course.
I mean hopefully, what we get during the climactic final battle is all the characters that we saw that seemed to be voiceless cameos all helping out, kinda like in the Nightmare Rarity arc.
I’m sure that’s what this is, but also likely to help establish why all these known characters are in Canterlot for this festival so that they can’t help the Mane 6 when they get kicked out.
I hope that lightning dust gets an appearance
