The ticking grew weaker as an unwound clock chimed. The silence between each swing grew longer and longer.

Everyone always expects something of you, no matter what. Expectation is what destroys relationships. My advice? If people are going to expect things of you, you might as well expect nothing of yourself. So no matter if you fail or succeed, at least you feel good. Oh, and don’t worry. You’re moving far too much for the spores to settle.”
