Emerald thinks hard between the shield and whirlwind specifically. He kind of has a spell already that does what push does, though it’s a force of will rather than the literal wind pushing things around. On the other hand he doesn’t have anything like a shield, and if it’s anything like the one Joyride used it would be incredibly useful.
 
Emerald decides on the shield, and he picks up the book as well as his focus and makes his way back up the stairs. On the way he meets Lady Elegance, and after explaining what he is doing she gives him his bandanna and follows him back up to the door right outside Sepulcher’s work room, where she lays back down.
 
Emerald makes his way outside and attempts to cast the Dweomeric Shield spell. Learning how to do spells is a lot harder than being taught them, he comes to find. No matter how hard he tries to cast the shield on himself it doesn’t seem to take.
