Today they had a christmas workshop together with the fillies, where every one of them created something to give away to the lokal orphanage. Spike also came along to help them wrap it all up and take it there.  
I imagine Spike and the Crusaders being close friends since they`re approximately the same age and grew up together in ponyville. Also, I ship him and Sweetie Belle :heart:
