“You already did long before I did in fact, Little Miss Amulet. The difference is I fixed my own mess, but I had to bail you out by convincing everyone not to press charges against you, especially after you imprisoned the Mayor. You’re welcome by the way.”

(Looks at how her career is restored and Ponyville residents are no longer bullying her) “Hey, can’t argue with the results. Trixie should have taken a page from the Book of Twilight and solved all her problems by carelessly misusing dangerous magic years ago!” :P
And Twilight would question how she’s the one grasping at straws when said homeless gypsy is the one so dead-set on one-upping her over an event where she saved her life that she’d willingly use a known corrupted amulet, blatantly manipulate her student out of petty spite and try to use her financial stability as an excuse to secure some semblance of win over the mare who’s helped save Equestria ten times over.
“At least I use my gifts to help ponies! Barring that incident with the changelings, You just want to be better than everyone else!”

At this point Trixie would just find it hilarious that a rich girl born into privilege from a wealthy and influential family, who was groomed from a young age by the god-leader of the nation because the girl to hold more innate power than any other pony that god-leader had ever seen in her thousands of years of ruling, who was chosen for greatness by a higher power, and has been given free access to all the knowledge and resources she could ever want for free… was grasping at straws to beat a homeless gypsy girl with a deadbeat dad and average innate power who is regularly bullied, heckled, and blamed for an event she wasn’t even guilty of in the first place at a game of “whose better” XD
Twilight would then casuallly bring up the time travel spell and show her several instances where she actually studied and trained in order to get into Celestia’s school, and even afterwards her actually practicing to be better at Magic. “I’d say it means a lot, since I actually trained and practiced to be as good as I am and EARNED my position. You on the other hoof took a shortcut the second things got difficult Little Miss-Amulet!”
Just putting it out there, being born with high potential doesn’t mean she sat around and did nothing while everything was handed to her.

Trixie would laugh, boop Twiggles’ nose, and say “That don’t mean much coming from a mare who doesn’t have a single thing she wasn’t either born with or given from Celestia!” ;D
Twilight would probably reply with “ Says the are who’s “talents” were so limited that only a Rock Farm would hire her?”
But if THAT is all Twilight did, Trixie would just point and laugh. Probably make a snide comment like “Hey, maybe Celestia could afford to pay you if her fines weren’t just hypothetical!” :P
She doesn’t have to charge her directly, but rather show Trixie how much she’d be owing if Twi dodn’t give her a slap on the wrist.
To be fair that’s usually because they would end up shooting themselves in the foot via their own actions.
The other thing is that Twilight cares too much about her reputation to retaliate in any meaningful way. Charging Trixie for any crimes would basically be admitting she was wrong about forgiving her, which she would never in a million years do. Remember when she found out about Discord’s betrayal in the final season: she was more upset that “her accomplishments weren’t real” than she was about the high possibility that Discord was lying about his motive for betraying them, or that Discord had put everything and everyone they loved in jeopardy for no valid reason, or that ponies probably died because of Discord’s stupid plan, or about the billions of dollars of damage he was directly responsible for, or that they stood a good chance of being destroyed, or that Discord could not be trusted and was objectively a threat to her, her friends, and all of Equestria. She has NEVER punished anyone for anything after deciding they were reformed, even if they’re continuing to do things deserving of punishment after their reformation, even if they’re being worse than actual villains, and she even goes far enough to protect them from consequences they deserve for their continued wrongdoing. She’s not going to change her behavior now for a snotty letter, and Trixie knows this :P
Well there was also imprisoning the Mayor and enslaving the town, And I’m pretty sure that was a fair amount of property damaged made buy her Rampage.
Maybe, but Ponyville not letting go of a petty grudge and retaliating against someone who really didn’t do anything wrong was the reason Trixie came back as a villain in the first place, so it probably wouldn’t behoove Twilight to repeat that mistake. Characters like Wallflower and Starlight have shown it is SCARILY easy in Equestria to get your hands on god-tier powers and go on a rampage hurting ponies for no real reason, so really it’s TWILIGHT who shouldn’t be poking the hornets nest. Not to mention, there was actually very little damage done by Trixie. She created some crazy shit like a dome and a massive chariot which apparently just vanished, and other than that all she really did was hang some banners and mess up the ground a bit. The bill would be like $100 at most for some landscaping, and knowing Trixie she’d pay the bill with dollar bills folded into origami pigs in hay burger boxes and claim victory :P
One of the reasons why Trixie should be grateful she’s not under mountains of debt. The bottom line is that she could if wanted to but let it slide, Trixie shouldn’t poke the hornets nest.
And even if she wasn’t that petty, there’s nothing stopping her from sending her a massive bill just to show how much Little Miss financially stable could have been forced to pay if it wasn’t for her forgiving nature, just to give her food for thought next time she wants to mouth off.

Twilight doesn’t have that in her though. I mean, she let it slide when one of her friends straight up betrayed her, her friends, her loved ones, the country she is sworn to protect, and everything she believes in, resulting in half of a city being blown up, for no reason other than the betrayer claimed his motives were noble, and that’s to say nothing of all the crap she lets slide from Starlight and her other friends. She’s not going to retaliate in any meaningful way against someone for such a minor neener-neener, ESPECIALLY when Ponyville going way too far in retaliating against Trixie for a minor slight is what was directly responsible for her coming back for revenge in the first place. Even if Twilight was that petty, she’s continually been shown to give into the demands of bad people if it means they won’t retaliate :P
I doubt fireworks would even be illegal in Equestria. It’s a world where a third of the population can shoot beams from their heads that would do far more damage than your average firecracker. Not to mention, she was selling them to a play being put on by the royal family so it’s pretty safe to say they’re either entirely legal or she has a permit or license of some sort; if a princess can casually skank around the law to open a school she could just as easily do it for fireworks :D
Continuously provoking Twilight still wasn’t a good idea to begin with. I was just pointing out that Trixie kinda owes Twi for not holding her actions against her since I doubt Trixie would’ve gotten off scot-free and probably would be in crippling debt otherwise.
And on a minor note, for someone more financially stable than the Princess, she sure doesn’t seem to have any qualms about selling back alley fireworks… which I’m pretty sure she doesn’t have a permit for.

Not so much treason as it is self-defense. Remember in this whole scenario Trixie’s been wholly reactive and actually did nothing wrong. She asked an honest question about Twilight’s poor finances and was surprised (and admittedly delighted) to learn she made more than a princess, Twilight got mad and zipped her mouth shut, so Trixie retaliated by sending her the bill marked “0 bits owed for zipper removal” to rub it in that she has great healthcare effectively making them even. It’s all been harmless no-harm-done tit-for-tat jabbing back and forth so far. If Twilight escalates it to “I’ll destroy your life for being pleased you make more money than me”, then she’s basically become nothing more than a petty corrupt villain who will do anything to lash out at people out of insecurity and jealousy (in other words, she’s being worse than Trixie was when fully corrupted by the Alicorn Amulet) :P
That sounds dangerously close to treason. Not to mention the fact that this is Trixie were talking about, she still doesn’t have that good of a reputation considering her stunt in Ponyville with the Amulet. Civilians may be abrasive, but they’re not dense enough to seriously start go against someone who’s currently in charge of not only all of Equestria, but making sure night and day come and go without interruption… and the reason Equestria is currently still standing and not smoking hole in the ground.
Not to mention the fact that Twilight’s the reason she didn’t have to pay a bill or end up in crippling debt over her stunts in the first place.
If Trixie wants to start painting a nasty picture just because she got her lips zipped for mouthing off, then she can deal with the consequences herself without any hoof-holding.
That’s true, but the ponies are notoriously quick to judge, very untrusting on a whim, and can be spiteful to the point of malice over the littlest of things. It took a complete stranger (actually Chrysalis) all of like a week of telling lies to ponies to make them turn on each other, and Ponyville residents harassed Trixie to the point of poverty because another pony was “better” than her and have been shown to be utterly horrid to Fluttershy simply because she’s too quiet to stand up to them. They’d likely believe Trixie at face value just for the hell of it. Besides, Trixie could also point out how their beloved princess is “enticing” Trixie to be nicer to her by threatening to welsh on a pardon, and all because Twilight doesn’t like that Trixie has financial stability. How good would THAT make Princess Twilight look, ESPECIALLY considering Twilight and her friends had self-serving ulterior motives for forgiving Discord and Starlight? It’s not hard to paint a pretty nasty picture of Twilight, and Trixie wouldn’t even have to lie :P
To be fair, no one actually saw her do it.
You can get to Twilight through her friends though. Rainbow Dash is just as loud and outgoing as Trixie and has never faced punishment for that little stunt she pulled with destroying the Cloudsdale weather factory.
While that may be true, the skeletons can be hidden very easily when the right precautions are taken. Trixie on the other hand is a lot more verbose and outgoing, so her dirty laundry is a lot easier to expose. Where as Twilight is knows for planning ahead for every eventuality… not that easy to find… and even harder to use against her since she has the stance as the protector of Equestria.
That may be, but “those who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones” comes to mind. Twilight and her friends have some pretty nasty skeletons of her own in her closet when it comes to getting off scot-free for doing horrible things, so she really shouldn’t play the whole “I’ll expose you” stunt :P
